Jennifer Shirkey has been requested to make two separate presentations at the national Annual Meeting of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) in March. One of her sessions will be a panel presentation to the full conference attendance on estate planning for retirement accounts in light of significant changes made by the landmark SECURE Act and SECURE Act 2.0 legislation passed by Congress in recent years. Her other session will be a presentation at the conference’s Fiduciary Income Tax Committee meeting regarding income in respect of a decedent (IRD) tax matters that affect trust and estate beneficiaries.
ACTEC is an association of lawyers and law professors skilled and experienced in the preparation of wills and trusts; estate planning; and probate and trust administration. To qualify for membership as an ACTEC Fellow, a lawyer must have no less than 10 years’ experience in the active practice of probate and trust law or estate planning. Lawyers are elected based on their outstanding reputation, exceptional skill, and substantial contributions to the field by lecturing, writing, teaching and participating in bar activities. Jennifer was elected as an ACTEC Fellow in 2018.
