Scott Raney concentrates his practice on commercial real estate, finance and development. He focuses on providing effective and efficient representation to his clients in connection with a broad range of transactions and issues, including land acquisitions and sales, residential and commercial development, commercial leases, financing arrangements, resolution of title issues and zoning compliance, among other things.  He has represented developers, contractors, builders, business owners, lenders, borrowers, landlords, and tenants. His experience includes negotiation and drafting of purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, leases, easements, and a variety of other transactional documents.

A native of Virginia Beach and a proud graduate of Hampden-Sydney College, Scott worked three years in sales for Ferguson Enterprises in Charlottesville before deciding to attend law school in Louisiana. Before joining Flora Pettit, he spent three years practicing with a prominent New Orleans-based law firm.

Scott married his wife, Liz, in Charlottesville in 2007, and they have three sons, Scotty, Wyn and Wells.  Outside of the office, Scott enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, playing golf, cooking, and hunting game birds and waterfowl.
